260# / 117.9kg C&J.
A 5# jump from late March (I believe)..?
The amount of benching I’ve been doing is really showing. My overheads and push movements have seemed almost effortless the past few weeks. Just gotta’ keep benchin’!
..which speaking of I should sleep soon because I have a 7:15am appt. with my box’s CHEST SPECIALIST. :P
Enjoy, guys n’ gals!
Them life updates in video form!
Cheers to the new things and amazing girl in my life. ♥
It’s been a year of CrossFit already!?
Time sure does go by when you’re having fun.
Where to start.. I really don’t know what to say but I feel like it’s more of me ‘having’ to do this since it’s so monumental. ..and I haven’t really been posting, and I’m sorry for that.
I’ve gotten stronger. That has and always will be my standing goal as an athlete, and I can say that CrossFit has opened my eyes up into a new way of fitness. I’ve always been that typical gym rat before (I still have my moments when I want to bro it up with lat raises and curls :P), but the whole functional fitness craze got me hooked. THANKS, GROUPON! ;)
I met so many new people whom I consider my friends, and my second family, and I can’t be thankful enough for the opportunity I’ve been given to share what I’ve been taught by my coaches and my L1 staff this past January.
All of these words above are honestly just jumbled up. It’s okay if it doesn’t make sense. I’d rather use videos to show progress.
The following are three lifts that I can have the most comparison to seeing how I recorded them that early in the game :P First video of each set is around the first month I started, and second is sometime in 2013. Enjoy!
SQUAT:
And to think I went A2G in the top one.. My God. Hahahahaha
SNATCH:
So just get the bar overhead from the ground in one motion, right? Cool, consider it done.
CLEAN:
Hips? FUCK HIPS I MUSCLE THAT SHIT.
Safe to say I’ve come quite a long way. In the end, I plan on making a run for Regionals in 2014 where I believe I’ll be ready, unless Castro decides to narrow the field down even more and have like only the top 20 qualify -_-
Anywho, I hope this wasn’t much of a bore. I’m just happy I stuck with this for over a year, and most definitely will be sticking with it for a very long time. :)
So the other day, I kinda injured my right wrist trying to PR my snatch, so all day yesterday I did everything practically lower body. It was actually a way for my body to tell me to lay off the upper body shit for a minute and get back to where I’ve been much stronger at.
Squatted 275# x5 and did an EMOM of 10 BB front rack lunges at 115#. I was kinda bored so I wanted to see if I can do this.. obviously successful :P
It’s proof that my press game is getting way better. Before I wasn’t even able to balance myself for less than a second doing this and now.. a guy told while I was doing this “You should take a picture of yourself”, hence me pointing to my iPad and saying that I was!
Haha, super long story short:
It’s great when you can see how far you’ve come in any aspect. Work hard, and you’ll get to where you wanna be one way or another.
Hey guys, it’s been a while since I actually put a picture of my face up so I figure I take advantage of this beautiful weather and wear sunglasses in my room and be shirtless n’ shit and attempt to get a 2-for-1 by getting a back picture in, SINCE WE ALL KNOW HOW FUCKING AWKWARD IT IS TO GET A SELF BACK PIC.
Sometime this week (I don’t know the exact date I started CrossFit) would mark my 1-year anniversary with CrossFit. Sooooo, expect a post sometime this week about it, as well as life updates and the works.
Also if anyone has any questions or whatever you wanna talk to me about, you’re more than welcome to.
For now, enjoy my sunglasses’d face! :P
CFG 2013: 13.4
*Honestly speaking, I know I could have done more. I rested WAY too fucking much and I could have been close to, if not breaking, 100. It wasn’t worth it for me doing this a second time because I’ve realized I want my first Open to be done more of a “where am I among my region” type thing (except 13.2, I was just upset about that one).
Reps Completed: 74
C&J PR!
250.5# / 113.6kg 255# / 115.6kg
Is it bad that I kinda didn’t struggle with it?
CFG 2013: 13.3
*Wallballs should have been bigger sets.. I did PR my Karen though (8:11). Double unders.. ugh I was just fighting to keep my quads from cramping up lols. I’m more than happy have the score that I have for 13.3. Castro, please make 13.4 original and awesome. SPEALLER IS DOING IT SO YOU MUST.
Reps Completed: 245 (Tiebreak: 10:21)
